ZIPPER TONGUE
Zipper Tongue is a two piece covers band who use real instrument backing tracks recorded professionally and consisting only of drums and bass. The duo play every other instrument live and in real time. Zipper Tongue have a vast array of instruments literally at their finger tips thanks to their midi synthesisers, this gives them the ability to play any instrument at the flick of a switch, all from the comfort of their guitars. The band has extensive knowledge of all instruments from piano to brass to flute, and of course (believe or not) guitar. There are no limits to what Zipper Tongue can perform as they are not governed by the strict confines of just guitars. With the help of their equipment, consisting of vocal harmonisers, midi effects units, top of the range amplifiers and speakers, they can create effects such as a large brass band, a classical orchestra or a straight forward rock band with the greatest of ease. Zipper Tongue is a two piece band who take up minimal space and have complete control over their volume levels. They have all the advantages of a two piece band with non of the drawbacks. Recently Zipper Tongue performed for charity to aid Stephen’s successful assent of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Vocals/Guitar/Midi Synthesiser - Stephen has gigged throughout the Southeast of England in various cover bands. He is an experimental performer using his unique style of playing with his interaction with midi synthesisers and vocal harmonisers. Stephen is a versatile musician with the ability to take ideas and mould them in his own trademark way. Stephen follows many styles of music from classical to jazz and maintains a keen fondness of rock. He has a great vocal range that compliments his guitar playing and has a clear understanding of what makes a great performance. Backing Vocals/Guitar/Midi Synthesiser - Nick grew up in Scotland, where he established his formidable reputation as a virtuoso guitarist, composer, teacher, producer and performer in many styles ranging from flamenco and classical to jazz and rock. He is also one of the leading Midi guitar players in the country. Live, Nick has performed at numerous venues including Wembley Arena, Hyde Park, Dundee guitar festival, London Guitar show, Music Live, Retrofest, Alloutguitarfest and all over Europe and America with a multitude of bands. www.myspace.com/zippertongue
