Monkeysuit April

This April the Monkeysuit house has some fine music is instore for us - with gigs at South Street and Oakford it doesn't all have to be about Easter bunnies, chocolate and religousness...

The first gig is at South Street on the 3 April...

The Wave Pictures

Signed to the independent label MoshiMoshi (Slow Club, Tilly and the Wall) the band is famed for their insightful lyrics and warm natured music. Their debut album 'Instant Coffee Baby' received critical acclaim and was short listed for the prestigious Guardian First Album award.

They are touring the UK and Europe throughout April and will release their second album 'If You Leave It Alone' on MoshiMoshi in May. Through playing gigs, sending CDs to fans across the world and old fashioned, word of mouth. The Wave Pictures have gained a cult status and a devoted international following.

'You feel like Tattersall is singing with you, rather than at you, the songs themselves full of secrets and stories he's bursting to tell.'- DrownedInSound.com

'The Wave Pictures may be on the cusp of a major breakthrough.' - Guardian gig review

'They can zip from richly observed into amusingly confessional into a Lewis Carroll flight of fancy.'- NME

Jay Newton (Full Force Gales)

Local troubadour Jay Newton is usually found fronting Reading alt/rock band Full Force Gales but some times he can found playing solo. This is a rare chance to see just him performing strip down versions of their songs.
