Velocity Recordings have signed a new three-year digital distribution deal - if you fancy congratulating them, you can at their 'Camden Is Rubbish These Days' gig on the 11 April at Plug n Play.

Here's what they say about the gig and the new deal...

boydidgood

It has been a sheer joy to watch these boys develop over the last twelve months. Another local band that have grown ten fold. You have to love their guitar no nonsense guitar greatness that they produce. They make girls purrrr.

Jets Against Giants

Forget the past. 2009 is year zero. Taking over where OK TOKYO got off. But these kids have munched far too many disco biscuits and listened to some serious RAWK! We salute the new leaders of the Reading thug scene. Our fave new Reading band.

Attention Thieves

Tighter than a pair of skinny jeans. These four pretty boys create  punk rock, but not as we know it. A band with a lot of potential alert!

Johnny Arrow and the Cheap Day Returns

Is this a silly name? Or a great name for a band? This lot have crept up on and us and are now filling our ears and hearts. Old school tinged indie, when indie was a dirty word. It's like C86 never happened. To us sound like Flat Mates/Shop Assistants/Biff Bang Power.

Plus MidiMidis DJs.

So back to the new distro deal - here's what Velocity have to say on the subject...

Velocity Recordings have signed a three year deal with Believe Distribution (www.believedigital.com) for all its download needs. Believe Distribution, based in France; are the leading digital distributor of independent artists and labels in Europe. The distributor will help and promote our new singings and help to promote our back catalogue.

Under this new deal-the label is proud to announce its first signing Sixty Watt Bayonets. A band Velocity Recordings booked to play the labels music/club night, within thirty seconds of hearing them on myspace. A band that the label has been developing for the last 18 months. The band will be releasing a seven track download mini album. It is a cracker of a debut release. If you think Yeah Yeahs have let you down, or you know that it took the Gossip years to get good, or a new band who know that the Banshees and X Ray Spex should be worshipped. Then this four piece young band are for you!

Congratulate Sid on his new deal at this gig...
