Monkeysuit in Windsor

Brighton lo-fi conjurers 4 or 5 Magicians head up the next Monkeysuit night over in Windsor at the end of the month, with support from the exciting Sixty Watt Bayonets (who seem to be everywhere at the moment) and Southampton’s Wise Children

4 or 5 Magicians were described in Rocksound as being "the sort of lo-fi attack jam that Kurt Cobain would have creamed over", which although being a disconcerting image, is high praise indeed.

They play concise, summery slices of indie-rock, reminiscent of Pavement with a Steve Albini-style production edge (extra bonus points from us here at Josaka Towers for those references)

They've toured with Los Campesinos and Johnny Foreigner, recorded a live session for Huw Stephens and having recently unveiled a selection of rapturously received tracks recorded with Ian Button (Death In Vegas).

The band are due to play the Great Escape festival and are picking up attention from the likes of the NME. Who recently gave a way a free download of their song 'Ideal man'. A band with a promising future.

Sixty Watt Bayonets are an exciting, uncompromising, art-punk band from Reading, Berkshire. Who merge a powerful female vocal, violent, jagged guitars and pounding drums to great effect.

In less than a year, they've been played on the legendary KROQ-FM radio station in Los Angles, as well as being tipped for the top by Larry Little (ex-the Killers manager). Sixty Watt Bayonets have also been featured in Noise Makes Enemies and URB Magazine's list of ones to watch for 2009.

Further support from Wise Children, who hail from Southampton. Their music absorbs a wide range of influences from Sigur Rós, Penguin Café Orchestra and Nick Drake to create gentle, acoustic music with sweeping melodies and heartfelt vocals.

Of course Plundercats and Mark is egg will be playing an eclectic mix of music throughout the evening.
