Local legend Mr Fogg brings an eclectic line-up to the Rising Sun Arts Centre on 24 July which includes a Pete and the Pirates side project and Canada's Katie Stelmanis

Topping the bill are a currently un-named lo-fi supergroup including members of two of Reading's best-loved bands Pete and The Pirates and Hot Silk Pockets. The Pirates have been conquering radio waves and festival stages throughout Europe over the last couple of years and are now working on the follow-up to an album that NME called "perfect pop without the pretence". Meanwhile, Hot Silk Pockets have been making a successful transition from "parties in their shed" to a debut single that was described by This Is Fake DIY as "a sparkling beginning to what we predict will be a prospering career".

The night also offers a rare chance to see a sneak preview of electronica artist Mr Fogg's new solo show. Since recording his debut album earlier in the year with renowned Icelandic producer and composer Valgeir Sigurðsson (Björk, múm, Bonnie Prince Billy, Maps) Fogg has spent much of 2009 collaborating with and remixing other artists - including a complete de/re-construction of the new single by a certain Indie band from Birmingham - and preparing for the record's release in early 2010. Meanwhile, the word is spreading on the blogs with New York tastemaker The Culture of Me saying "If you yearn for the aching beauty of the glitchy, cerebral instrumentation from Mum and Sigur Ros with the intricate subtlety that only someone well-versed in "pop" can dish out, Mr Fogg is the best penny to be found on the street."

Hailing from Toronto, Katie Stelmanis provides an international flavour to proceedings and her music is described by NME as "symphonies of coming-of-age sorrow". This is your last chance to see Katie on her UK tour, which started several weeks ago and is only now coming to an end after being extended several times by word-of-mouth bookings. Her single "Believe Me" is out now on Vice/Loog.
