Glasswerk Presents...

Glasswerk have announced the headliners for their September and October shows at Plug n Play for their Revelry club night, which include some fantastic bands for Reading to salivate over.

South Africa’s finest, The Parlotones, hotly tipped Manchester based four-piece, Everything Everything, heavy rocking Viking Skull and the beautifully intense Revere will all play Plug n Play, Milford Road, Reading.

29 September – The Parlotones

Producing classic indie style pop tunes The Parlotones are as radio friendly and anthemic as they come. The Parlotones drop into the UK for a ten date tour during September and October and kick things off at Plug n Play on Tuesday 29 September.

The Parlotones (pictured) are the biggest selling band in South Africa right now and have played prestigious shows all over the world including Live Earth, Coke Festival and V Festival. The band have a huge, worldwide deal with Universal which will let us see much more of them in the coming months.

30 October – Everything Everything

Next up are the fantastic Everything Everything on Friday 30October. Zane Lowe loves them as does pretty much everyone to do with new music and following on from a handful of raved about single releases the band will perform for Glasswerk.co.uk on the back of appearances at Reading/Leeds Festival and a UK tour support with The Rumble Strips.

‘A band that just blew me away – I discovered something new about the way music makes me feel when I heard this...’
-
Zane Lowe

Everything Everything are no strangers to Reading as they have wowed audiences at the Oakford Social Club on more then one occasion this year. Come and see for yourselves what all the hype is about......

3 November – Viking Skull

Heavy rocking Viking Skull are sure to blow the roof off Plug n Play Studios on Tuesday 3 November.

Boasting the grooves of Black Sabbath and AC/DC's pulsing rhythms front man Roddy Stone adds whiskey drenched, tortured and downright dirty vocals to this devastating concoction of unconventional classic metal, which is distinctly original. A mixture of gratuitous partying, self-indulgent drinking, and outrageous flirtation was the catalyst of their first 2 albums, “Chapter 0ne” and “Born in Hell”. However 2007 saw Viking Skull adopt a much more powerful, darker and certainly more sinister approach to their music, with the critically acclaimed albums “Chapter Two” and “Doom, Gloom, Heartache and Whiskey”. This should be a fantastic treat for Berkshire’s metal community who rarely receive the touring bands they deserve.

13 November – Revere

The fantastically beautiful yet explosive Revere will treat fans to a unique set on Friday 13 November.  Live, Revere incorporate violin, cello, keys, trumpet and harp into a guitar-led sound, touching on numerous musical reference points, combining elements of gypsy marches, klezmer, post rock, film scores and gospel resulting into something truly unique. More simply put, Revere combine the fiery melodrama of Muse with the rousing chamber-pop of Arcade Fire.

"An extraordinary widescreen technicolor epic by a stunning band..."

"Beautifully unpredictable..."
