Bristol Takeover
BBC Introducing Live in Reading has seen some of the country's breaking bands raise the roof of the Oakford Social Club since its gig launch in May.
Now, the weekly free night continues with its unrivalled support of grassroots acts by launching The Takeover - bringing other music scenes from around the country into Reading .
BBC Introducing in Reading has championed acts across the national scene, bringing Baddies, General Fiasco, Cherbourg, Let's Wrestle and Life In Film to the Oakford. Alongside them Reading bands such as Vices, MidiMidis, Elliot To Hong Kong and BBC Introducing Reading Festival openers Sixty Watt Bayonets have highlighted the thriving local scene we have here.
From the Wednesday 28 October 2009 the Reading BBC Introducing show will be inviting whole scenes from around the country to take over the Oakford; the Takeover will feature at the BBC Introducing LIVE show in Reading every few months, check the website for more details... first up Bristol!
BBC Introducing Live presents...Bristol Takeover brings a bit of magic from the West Country with sets from The Naturals/ Farthing Wood/ On Off Switch. The night is on from 8pm to 11pm and as always is free entry.
If you haven't got work in the morning, or lectures haven't quite started yet, then you can party the night away with Club BBC Introducing carrying on proceedings until 1am, featuring some of the town's best indie and electro DJs.
