Singer Songwriters Night

Ben Marwood hasn't played in Reading for a good few months, and he brings his tuneful folk pop to the Rising Sun Arts Centre on Friday 27 November

This summer Ben toured the UK in support of his joint EP with Oxygen Thief and Jim Lockey, Exclamation at Asterisk Hash, and hasn't performed in Reading since the Oakford show which kicked off that tour.

Club Velocity brings him back home, ahead of a December show in London in support of Frank Turner.

"A kick in the gut for the new hippy generation. nice."
- Artrocker

"Britain's answer to Conor Oberst's fragmented folk"
- Is This Music?

Support comes from Jay Newton. Once member of Heartwear Process, Jay is also in Fullforce Gales and Quiet Quiet Band. Jay solo is a real force to be reckoned with. His songs deal with real life, the things that really matter.

Opening up is female singer songwriter Jemma Willard. Influenced by her heroes Anouk and Joan Baez, Jemma sings heartrending folk pop with one of the best voices in Reading.
