Club : Us Not Them

Throughout 2009 The Red Lion on Southampton Street hosted some of the most raucous and exciting Friday nights in Reading. Their 2010 kicks off in earnest in January with a new club night called Club : Us Not Them, showcasing good old fashioned rock n roll from the local area

Friday 15 January

Hattie Carrolls
http://www.mypsace.com/hattiecarrolls

The Hattie Carrolls started off in quite shambolic style at the start of 2009 but, as the year progressed, so did the band and they topped it off with a storming end of year set at the Purple Turtle.

Garage Flowers

Young as you like, but they have been around for a good three years now and recently supported party boys Underground Heroes as well as slots with The Bluetones. Uplifting and anthemic tunes for the masses

Corky

Corky is the frontman from local band The Circus Sands and will be opening the night with a few accoustic ditties.

Friday 22 January

Monday Night Losers Club

Slightly mysterious, this boozed up Reading four-piece bring their shamb/alco-holic nonsense to the masses

Support from Noah Kelly http://www.myspace.com/noahkellyband

Friday 29 January

Johnny Arrow and the Cheap Day Returns
http://www.myspace.com/johnnyarrow

These fellas play fast indie pop, at a time when people are going ‘urgh’ about indie pop. They carry on regardless cos they’re pretty good at it.

Off The Radar

" …this will no doubt be gracing our radio airwaves some time soon, and with the sun still trying its best to stay put, it’ll be a very welcome place for us and Off The Radar" (Artrocker, UK)

Gaz Ellis

Billing himself as an ‘English Gentleman’, Gaz is now based in New York. Acoustic stuff and tender sentiments. He says “Hello Hello, I am an English Gentlemen. I like to say hello when you walk past me”
