The Pawnbroker formed from a passion for The Hilliard Ensemble, Rod Steiger, Low and Harold Budd. After opening for I Am Kloot and Tom Brosseau, they have recently debuted a live soundtrack to the Steiger/Lumet movie The Pawnbroker, and will be releasing songs on the Earth Connection label in 2009. Ben Sandiford and Pete Brookes use vocals and a piano.

Jemma Willard is a singer/songwriter from Reading. She started working on her debut album "Absence of an Ending" with songwriter/producer Ian Mathias-Baker in 2005 and in June 2008 it was released by Satellite - 9 Records on iTunes & Amazon. The album succeeds in capturing her private angst in a series of songs that are a fusion of guitar driven rock and folksy ballads. Whatever mood she's in, the results are all underpinned by an unerring musicality, and her uniquely striking turns of phrase. Since October 2008 Jemma has been collaborating with songwriter/guitarist Nick Bates to write new material to perform. As one fan recently put it "To enjoy such quality in a local pub is surely not a frequent event. It's not easy to summarise, but there's something in her songs and voice that reminds me of Jewel, Anouk and Emiliana Torrini".
