Reading Festival unsigned hoax

A site calling itself Festival Unlocked is falsely claiming to be a competition for unsigned bands to play at this year’s Reading and Leeds festival.
Organisers stress that site is not official
Festival Republic, promoters of the Reading and Leeds Festival, are keen to alert all festival goers to the unofficial site on MySpace. The site has no link with the festival and none of the bands will be on the bill via this site.
Reading and Leeds Festival is totally committed to new unsigned talent and this year will see the combined forces of BBC Introducing, BBC Raw Talent, Sandman and Futuresound choose three days worth of acts to play the BBC Introducing at both sites.
Full details of the bands appearing across the weekend on the BBC Introducing Stage will be issued soon.
