Monkeysuit September
Monkeysuit return to the Oakford Social Club on Sunday 14 September with a line up that inlcudes Eugene McGuinness, Kinkeh Towleh, Arthur Rigby and the Baskervylles and Harriet and Her 2 hands.
This is what they have to say about the artists at their September event...
Eugene McGuinness
We're thrilled to welcome a rather talented singer/songwriter called Eugene McGuinness to The Oakford.
You may be aware of him already he has played all the major festivals, done plenty of radio sessions, supported some of the best talent out there including Lightspeed Champion and Slow Club and has been featured in many press publications including The Guardian, NME, and Artrocker.
If his introductory mini-album, 'The Early Learnings Of Eugene McGuinness' managed to slip unnoticed through your net you missed out one of 2007’s most delightful sonic treats. However, you can rectify the situation or simply make your long-overdue reintroduction when the genre-hopping 22 year old comes to play for us.
He releases his self-titled debut album proper released on 13 October through Domino Recordings home to many a great band including Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand and Lightspeed Champion. Come down, we promise you won't be disappointed!

Kinkeh Towleh
A new side project from members of Reading's post rock/pop band A Genuine Freakshow. This side project is so new there is no Myspace link available for you to preview any songs but we've been told you can expect heartfelt songs about life, love and the odd reworked version of A Genuine Freakshow song.
Arthur Rigby and the Baskervylles
Originally from Durham this two-piece band make their Reading debut. A computer-generated orchestra supplements Benjamin's emotive vocals and Alexander's vigorous drumming in each of their original tracks giving the band a wonderful romantic sound. With influences extending from The Divine Comedy to Led Zeppelin to Rachmaninov, their wide-ranging material appeals to an eclectic mix of fans.
Harriet and Her 2 hands
We welcome a debut solo performance from Harriet Rock, who is usually seen fronting Reading garage punk band The Tricoteurs. However this time she will showing off her piano skills and bluesy vocals.
